These light kits can be either mounted behind the speaker grill or in front of them. I have found that mounting the light plates in front of painted speaker grills does a great job of lighting up the painted designs of the speaker grills and it really makes the designs pop.

These games were released with only 1 speaker. This should not effect the mounting of the light kits.
